Complete
& Detailed Surface
Preparation
Instructions
Most first time appliers average 40-55 square feet per
bag.
Textured Solutions is similar to wallpaper in that it
has dye lots. Mixing dye lots is acceptable providing they are thoroughly
mixed and used in the same application. To avoid any possibility of color
or texture variations between bags, be sure you mix enough Textured
Solutions in one mixing operation to completely cover each section, area
or wall.
In application, if it appears your mixture will be
short, mix the remaining necessary amount into the first mixture as soon
as possible.
IMPORTANCE OF
UNDERCOATING
Textured Solutions is a water based product which can
take from 24- 48 hours to dry. For this reason, it is very important to
seal the surface on which Textured Solutions is being applied to prevent
it from bleeding through the Textured Solutions and staining it. We HIGHLY
recommend B-I-N by WM Zinsser Co. (Product Number 901 in Red & White
can)
Special care must be taken on surfaces where high
staining agents, such as nicotine, exist to ensure the surface is well
sealed before application of Textured Solutions. Wash all surfaces with
TSP cleaner unless oil based primer is required. "T.S.P." -
Trisodium Phosphate. Use only white pigmented primers.
HIGH GLOSS / SEMI-GLOSS
PAINT
Rough up surface by washing with TSP solution or prime
with one coat of High Quality Primer Sealer / Stain Killer (we
HIGHLY recommend B-I-N by WM Zinsser Co.).
UNPAINTED & PAINTED
SURFACES
On surfaces painted with two or more coats of flat white
paint, it is safe to apply Textured Solutions providing that the paint has
cured for a minimum of 40 days or more and the wall has been washed to
ensure it is absolutely clean.
NOTE: It is always recommended
to seal most unsealed surfaces with a High Quality Primer Sealer / Stain
Killer (we
HIGHLY recommend B-I-N by WM Zinsser Co.) before applying Textured
Solutions. In some cases, it may be necessary to apply a second coat of
primer if the first coat has not sealed the wall properly and produced a
solid white background. Speeding up the drying process by using an
oscillating fan to blow air on the wall will greatly reduce the chance of
staining due to an insufficiently primed wall.

direct contact with water.

under normal conditions.
c) If extremely high humidity exists, treat wall surface with a water
repellent such as Scotch Guard thoroughly, after Textured Solutions has
